RMCOEH offers hazardous materials worker training through a partnership with the University of Texas School of Public Health's Southwest Center for Occupational and Environmental Health. There are several training options within this program.
ONLINE 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher ($39)
The 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher course satisfies OSHA's requirement for eight hours of annual HAZWOPER refresher training. This training is designed for workers and managers at hazardous waste operations who previously completed 40- or 24-hour HAZWOPER training. Available in both English and Spanish.
ONLINE 24-Hour HAZWOPER Certificate ($150)
Our 24-hour HAZWOPER course teaches participants to protect themselves and stay safe, even if they have limited exposure to hazardous substances that is under permissible exposure limits (PELs). The course provides a thorough understanding of OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3).
ONLINE 32-Hour Hazwoper Certificate ($295)
Our 32-hour HAZWOPER course teaches participants how to protect themselves and stay safe, even if they have limited exposure to hazardous substances that is under permissible exposure limits (PELs). This course provides a thorough understanding of OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3).
40-Hour HAZWOPER (Hybrid) Certificate ($295)
People who work with hazardous substances above permissible exposure limits (PELs) are required by OSHA to take the 40-hour HAZWOPER hybrid course. The course will give participants a thorough understanding of OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3).
The course involves 32 hours of online instruction and an eight-hour, hands-on/skills portion conducted in person. Please take the online 32-hour HAZWOPER prior to the hands-on/skills portion. Contact

Hazardous Materials Awareness Level Training
In Hazardous Materials Awareness Level Training, participants will learn how to understand and recognize hazardous materials and how to use available resources and notify proper authorities in the event of a hazardous materials emergency.
Hazardous Materials Handling and Injury Prevention Certificate
The Hazardous Materials Handling and Injury Prevention course consists of four modules: slips, trips, and falls; ergonomics; safety for workers (general industry); and chemical hazards.
6-Hour Biological and Infectious Agent Health and Safety in Emerging Technologies (BioSTET) Training
The BioSTET Training course explores the fundamentals of developing a site health and safety plan that includes provisions for biological safety. Course participants are introduced to definitions, critical components, engineering controls, PPE used to eliminate site hazards and exposures, the economics of an effective site health and safety plan, and specific applicants where the site health and safety plan effectively included biological safety, as demonstrated through clinical and/or medical device case studies.
