A large study of 88,246 drivers from all 48 contiguous U.S. states. All drivers have at least one FMCSA Commercial Driver Medical Examination data (n=96,591), including some clinical measures associated with those exams. Most drivers are “over-the-road” (or long haul) drivers. Crash data are included from federal databases. Corporate investigations into the cause of the crash is also included.
Important findings include: (i) prevalences of medical conditions, (ii) associations between specific conditions and risk of crash, and (iii) trends in medical conditions over time.
