Impacts of Seizures on Truck Safety

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is responsible for the USA’s trucking industry including its safety. This study is a systematic review and will includes metanalyses to evaluate the impacts of seizures on truck driver safety. Impacts to evaluate include evaluation of risks of seizure recurrences among those (a) treated and (b) untreated with antiepileptic medications for: (1) an unprovoked first seizure; (2) a seizure caused by a stroke; (3) a provoked first seizures; (4) an existing seizure disorder; (5) post-epileptic surgical treatment; (6) and sleep epilepsy. This study also includes a review of the requirements in each state concerning seizure disorders and other countries with published English-language website criteria.
