This project is a collaboration between the University of Utah, Montana Tech, and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. It is designed to establish academic and continuing education (CE) courses in emerging technologies specific to site biological/infectious agent safety. This collaborative, multidimensional educational experience will facilitate not only skills development and field application, but also create opportunities for innovative, cross-disciplinary research experiences and curriculum development on emerging technologies. The specific aims of this project are the successful development, implementation, and evaluation of 1) a continuing education (CE) certificate program focused on site biological and infectious agent health and safety, 2) a collaborative research-oriented academic course, and 3) a field practitioner course that utilizes the research products from the research-oriented academic course emphasizing emerging technologies in biological and infectious agent health and safety, offered collaboratively between the partnering institutions.
