Maureen Murtaugh, PhD

I lead the Targeted Research Training efforts for RMCOEH, and am a Professor of Epidemiology in the University of Utah’s Department of Internal Medicine with adjunct appointments in Population Health Sciences, Ophthalmology, and Nutrition and Integrative Physiology. In addition to co-directing the Utah Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) KL2. Further, I am the Director of Graduate Studies for the Department of Population Health Sciences, whose mission is to work with clinical, basic science, and other departments across campus to improve the health of populations as they interact with the health care system. I have served on the RMCOEH Executive Committee for many years and direct the center’s Pilot Project Research Training program. I am currently a School of Medicine Ombuds and have served as the Chair of the Faculty Advancement and Retention Committee.
