How to Earn Credits through CDC TRAIN
This activity involves two presenters each analyzing a peer-reviewed paper. The presenters describe and analyze: the purpose of the study, the study design, methods, results, strengths, and weaknesses. The presenters also facilitate a group discussion with attendees in which audience members ask questions, offer their opinions, and critique the research. Attendees both learn about the topic covered in the research and participate in critical analysis of the research itself.
At the conclusion of a session, the participant should be able to:
- Identify the study design and other methodology of the presented studies.
- Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the study design and methodologies.
- Evaluate whether the presented studies’ stated conclusions are supported by the data presented within.
- Describe how the findings of the presented studies are relevant to and can impact their professional practice.
- Identify how the knowledge they gained during the activity will help them as a member of an occupational and environmental health and safety team.
